In my line of work we use video content to cater to our web user audience. However, even for our bigger brands, these videos still have low user engagement. So I want to know, do any of you watch videos on web sites, and if so, how many times have you ever sent the video to a friend via email or embedded the video into your blog post.

Please tell me what is the most common way you find videos:

A) on a branded website, like YouTube
B) on a blog, like WordPress or AdAge
C) Browsing a search engine, like Google or MSN

Please share with us how often you watch videos over reading news:

A) 0-3 times a week
B) 3-5 times and week
C) 5 or more times a week

Finally, please note that I am asking these questions for everyone to have the answers to because as video becomes more popular online, we advertisers are going to need to learn how people engage it, and share it.

Looking forward to your thoughts below!

Here are my answers- I tend to start watching more video than reading news and listening to podcasts. My favorite site to watch video on these days in Democracy Now. I have used embed links on my blog, but never emailed a video to a friend. A friend recently did email the Jon Stewart Show video link revealing how the Pundits had to eat their words from a year ago, when now they are talking up women VP candidate Sarah Palin. Finally, I commonly find videos on YouTube or blogs, but never through search engines. I am not sure why that is given that search engine Google proclaims to have a video ranking algorithm in place. Anyway, video content rocks, and I love iReport- the CNN micro-site for upcoming journalists and people throughout the world who want to share their story.

Now its your turn- spill the beans on how you use video! I am not endorsing any side- Dem or Rep- I just like to be "in the know."
There are so many video resources and sites online, so when I watch them online, I pretty much know exactly what I am looking for.

A) Believe it or not, I do not go on you tube much. Perhaps it's the negative connotation it carries around the work place - "Joe does nothing at work, but watch you tube all day." But if I do go on, I usually surf by keywords (much like everyone else). But my approach to expand and explore my search doesn't involve multiple key words, instead I always look at the response videos and other related video/listed keywords.

B) On a blog or site, the videos I am looking at are content specific. The videos here are either the topic of the post or used as a supplemental device. I usually find these videos more interesting and about 90% of the time, tend to watch them.

C) Here is where it gets interesting. Browsing for vids, I stick to "Google." I say "Google" because I actually use (G2P - Google 2 Person).

I watch a video everyday, this is due to my daily routine of sites/RSS feeds I check, which includes Digg.
Are you a top digger?
Ha! No, not a top digger. Not MrBabyMan.
Hahaha- or skored.
One study that was done by Dixie Paper (owned by Georgia Pacific) that studied their spodcast sponsorship dollars found that they averaged a 29 times pass rate on a show for new moms. show
1C. I google videos. Whatever comes up in the search results and is relevant to my search I watch. Of course, most of the times it's a youtube video. I really don't care much where the videos comes from as long as I find what I am looking for. If I see something on a blog or a website that looks interesting I might watch it as well. But usually I don't watch just to watch.

2A. I rather read than watch. I actually still prefer to watch news on TV and read news online. So much for newspapers.
1A -2 C ;-)
