THE ULTIMATE LIE.

From Issue 150 MadisonAveNew.com

From time to time I have referred to myself
as a "Liar For Hire." Sometimes proudly, sometimes without
remorse. But always within the context of defining what I do for
a living. I do advertising. Not truth in advertising. Just
advertising.

But as I grow older and somewhat wiser, I have come to realize
that this pattern of professional behavior has oftimes crept at its
petty pace into my personal life. Especially when the product I
seek to advertise is myself.… Continue

THE ART OF SELF DEFENSE

From Issue 149: MadisonAveNew.com

It is no walk in the park being a creative practitioner in C21.
Certainly my own experience since the turn of the century has

been enough to make a grown man cry for his mommy more

than once. Two of my former partners checked out in the prime

of their lives and I'm still around to tell the story.

First there was Mark Anthony

Enjoyed our banter yesterday. This site is delightful.
I've never blogged before. Never done social networking before.
I'll work on my manners. Thanks for everything.

Hey Harry,

I've been following the "Future of Advertising is fading Into The past" topic and I was wondering if you could share your opinion with me on something.

Through my own work I often find myself pondering about in-game advertising. I was wondering what your thoughts on videogames as a platform for advertising/branding are?

Personally, I find it very interesting because it is an emerging and interactive medium, as opposed to currently declining broadcast mediums, and offers real opportunites to engage with prospects rather than just shout at them.

Harry,
Yeah, I know what you mean with regards to your last comment. I am not positive that her father did pass away. It would make sense though and I was told by two people that was what happened. I tend to be a bit more diligent with regards to fact checking these days and no mentions of it in the press I would have thought something like that would get covered.

Keep up th good fight.

Hey Harry,

I really liked your most recent post on MadisonAveNeW. The first time I stumbled across semiotics it was like opening the doors of the bomb shelter to see the world I thought I knew in ruins. The difference between words, pictures, sounds or any other kind of sign is just as abitrary is their individual meaning. Furthermore, words can be needless luxury when a single picture or sound will do. I think appreciating what each system of signs implies is an artform unto itself. For example, sounds are far more intrusive that words - it is far easier to opt out of reading something than stop listening to it. The choice between the two seems to be the knife edge that all communication sits upon.

Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing the site's new format when it arrives!

I must admit that I did entertain the idea of taking him out or at least putting him in a hospital. But it was your man. And I have nothing but respect for your family.

I appreciate you making the effort to point that out. Though I gravely understand the subtext when you say "wrong impression" I hope you'll let me in particular put this behind us because I feel like we have a lot to collaborate on.
