Hi there! Just to clarify, Miami Ad School has an Account Planning Boot Camp (as Planning is different than Account Services). Visit www.miamiadschool.com for more details on any of the programs.
The School of Pop Culture Engineering. Our students not only walk out with one amazing portfolio to show off at their interviews, they also become Pop Culture Engineers, creating new media and setting new trends. Oh yeah, we're dog friendly too!See More
I understand. I know. Seriously. Yeah, it can be really difficult sometimes, but I promise... you'll find your way into the advertising industry if you're passionate, honest, driven and have an kick ass portfolio to show off.
Areas of Expertise
Networking, attention to details, making people laugh, overuse of the color blue, coming up with crazy ways to solve problems, singing at karaoke bars and nailing the solos, meeting new people with no worries, public speaking, getting an image to show up on a projector, answering my cell phone, walking in a straight line.

What Services Can You Offer Adgabber Members?
I can offer insight to what it was like to work in a very creative ad agency from the mailroom, to coordinating the creative dept to being a project manager. I can also answer any questions about portfolio schools, internships and the importance on making a good first impression. I'm also good for a story or two.
What Services Are You Looking For From AdGabber Members?
Inspiration. I like to help people, so if you're trying to crack the code on the safe that holds your dream job in advertising, let's talk. I spent four years trying to figure it all out. What advice can I give? Go to portfolio school, get to know people on every internship you have, never stop learning, find out what drives your passion and stay honest.

Thanks for the email! Well, it sounds like you're quite the world traveler and have also done your research on Portfolio schools. I would say the three schools you mentioned are all great ones and you're doing the right thing by figuring out the process to succeeding at copywriting. The main difference between our school and other portfolio schools in general is the fact that our students are encouraged to travel to either one of our five others schools in the world after their first year OR they can try out an internship at one of hundreds of awesome agencies around the globe. We are always on the look out for new agencies to add to our internship list as our grads work in many of these high profile ad shops.
My experience here has been a great one. I'm surrounded by so many creative individuals of all different backgrounds, coming from all over the world and every 12 weeks, we get to meet a new group of students.. I'm very inspired by their passion and drive. :)
As for the six school locations in the MAS network, each has something slightly different to offer. In Minneapolis, we have winters for example... and San Francisco and Miami have the ocean a few blocks away. The cost of living can vary from city to city, but the experiences you gain as an aspiring copywriter will be just as great where ever you decide to apply. The school sizes are: 55 in Minneapolis, 85 in San Francisco and 200 in Miami (there are three other programs offered at the Miami location).
Overall, I'm very proud to working for this school and would be happy to put you in touch with one of the Directors at any of the school locations. Just let you me know what you're thinking. Please feel free to email me at laura@miamiadschool.com as I don't check this account as often.
Quite an inspirational profile you have here! So, I am a recent college graduate with 2 degrees - Speech Communciation and Russian .I'm now living in Bangkok for a year teaching English.....but I never wanted to make a career out of teaching. My dream is to be a copywriter. So step #1 - have a kick-ass portfolio. Ad school's I've heard good things about are: Miami Ad School, Creative Circus, and VCU. As an avid globe-trotter, I'm leaning towards MAS since they offer the option of studying in up to 4 different international locations during the second year.
I know you're at MAS, so what can you tell me about your experience there (the good, the bad, and the ugly!) Do you know if differant locations are better than others, especially for a copywriter? thanks!!!
