Here and there

Been doing my usual summer jaunt of weekdays in London and weekends in Barcelona and noticing the real difference in advertising between the two cities. London outdoor considers itself all highbrow and tries to do breakthrough the whole time (3d ads, moving ads, interactive ads and all that). Barcelona ads are much higher impact though they might lack the creativity of the London lot. They focus on the right message to the right audience at the right time. Solid media commandments. And using… Continue

Back in the office

Well, things went downhill quite rapidly after Tokyo. Had a great but hectic week in the land of the rising but hit the ground hard on my return. Blood poisening and a one week hospital stay. OUCH! No drinkies, no smokes (I've since quit - OUCH) and no business. Well, not so much anyway. First day back in the office today and apart from hosting an industry party last Wednesday night (phased out at 8.30 pm - boo!) I've been taking it real easy. And you know what - business roles on. Serves to… Continue

Hot in Tokyo

Man, is it hot out here. In sunny Tokyo for a few days visiting head office and struggling with chasing around the city and trying to arrive looking smart and presentable to client meetings. At least I have Tokyo nightlife to ease (or increase!) the pressure. Haha. Loving the technology out here as always and now freshly stocked up on new Sony Cybershot (12 megapixels baby!) with face tracking software. Watch out flickr and friendster, much photos to folllow. Cairo was cool too. Got back from a… Continue

Second Day In

Well, Adgabber seems like a friendly place. I'm kind of mercenary by nature so interesting to see what this all leads to. Feel a lack of B2B and publishers in the space but everyones a population of one so who cares. Got a good feel for all of this so will be a regular visitor and will try and update on my travels. Off to Cairo next in a couple of days. Mad city. Busy, dirty, beautiful, steeped in history and culture, friendly folk and great leather jackets. Lets just hope business is good. M

thanks for the comments! I'll try to get more sleep. but at 22 i havent had a REAL job for awhile. Just a web designer and blogging extraordinary guy.

the way i see it, if your young, you can enjoy money more than when your 50. for example, a corvette can by MUCH more lucrative when your 22 versus when your 50 and trying to "find yourself again".
