http://greenspotting.ning.com Antiques Recyclers - Salvage Chic. This group was founded as a Local group with orientation in SWest Ontario, but it has grown somewhat to include other interested parties from other localities, in Canada and U.S.

And a somewhat quirky blog at http://greeninkdiary.blogspot.com where I discuss some latest finds, tips, and tricks as I come across them -- in most cases related to internet sales, techniques for SEO, embedding, and cross-referenced reuse of content.

Now the best part.

We have modified a NING network to allow for direct sales with a Buy It NOW, paypal button. We have created categories, direct searches, preview sections and groups, We have optimized it with Google Sitemaps, a Google-base feed mechanism, and information interlinking between our various sites. It also includes bonanzle and ebay feeds, a virtual tour of our store, and more.
This is currently operational, very profitable, and building a good local loyal customer following. It is seen at http://greenspot.ning.com We call it a Shop-Ning.

our new experimental site, designed on the Shop-Ning mentioned above, will house multiple dealers, selling a variety of products, directly to the public. There are no fees, commisiions of any kind. We envision it to be a cooperative where any NING fees will be shared by sellers, but no other fees apply.

For those pioneers who wish to engage . or know of others who might wish to engage, in such an experiment (And we fully expect it to be a profitable venture ) and have antiques or vintage products for sale, we would invite you to view or join our progress at http://antiquesandvintage.ning.com.
Currently this is a closed group, membership on approval only. when it is set up (we expect about 3 weeks lead time) it wil become public for preview and sale.

Of course, regardless of your "sales" channel, we welcome any comments or observations by others which can help guide us to a more efficient and proficatble setup. If you would like to join as an observer with the intent of critique, please indicate this in your signon info.. We'd be happy to have you on board during setup, and even after if you so like. I think this form of sales group will provide for some interest thoughts in terms of social commerce in the future.
