There is a similar place on Oahu near Kaneohe called "Stairway to heaven" that is just as perilous and breathtaking. I was only able to climb half of it before the local HPD stopped us and told us to leave the mountain...Still though...It was fun as all hell holding the inner-screams and that fight-or-flight piss for that long. The pillbox climb in Kailua is fun as well if you're ever in the area of that part of Oahu. My only suggestion for you is to go to Blacks beach and stand on the cliffs and look down at all the hang gliders. The cliffs erode from time to time, taking a few thrill seekers with it. ...making "viewing" really interesting and invigorating.

What a beautiful life that must be - living near the beach. Back home in Malaysia, when I was a kid, we lived near the beach. I have tons of fond memories of time spent there. Now, the nearest beach is Coney Island - not quite the same, but special in it's own dirty, grungy, insanely-fun and historic way. We're about 6 subway stop away from it.
