Company Description
urban drift is the catch-all for the work that I do, which ranges from writing to digital illustration, from advertising theory to PR. Really, there's no description that fits, because the whole purpose is to allow for the flexibility to do anything beneath its rubric.
It's less and less that way now, Gabe. Now what we're finding is a manic attempt to reach the individual.
But advertising aside, it's always scarier to direct your message to one person than it is to address a general audience. One risks divulging too much and losing more.
It is too easy to market to ideals, too difficult to market to specific people. Advertising would much rather deal with abstracts - "males 18-24" - than with specifics. Why is advertising so afraid to get down and dirty and intimate?
