Well, I'm going to try blogging a little every day. It's good therapy and perhaps someday when I go totally postal, someone will look back at these posts and say "we should have seen it coming."

So, I had a major victory. I did some scratch tracks to pitch radio concept and the client liked it so much that he said "let's put them on the air just the way they are." Now I'd like to hear from some spot producers out there and see how often this comes up because I believe it's my first time ever.

We left the meeting clicking our heels (metaphorically) and saying things like "Mikey, he likes it!" and then we remembered -- LEGAL.

So we fired off transcripts to the legal department yesterday and got back the cryptic lawyeresque, Davinci coded email today regarding all of the legal considerations. And after a day of several people saying "What the heck does this mean?", and getting clarification, we discovered that we can't run the scratch spots. <whew> but we only needed to make a slight alteration to the original scripts and viola, we're on the air.

By the way, I believe that lawyers like to say things that you don't understand not just to feel superior, but to justify the additional fee for the 15 - 20 minutes they will take explaining it to you.
