Ogilvy once said that advertisers who believe in the selling power of jingles have never had to sell anything.

And having just watched this Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners-directed spot for the Mohegan Sun casino, where the wannabe cast of Grease 3 molests the tune to Superfreak, we don't just believe it -- we live and breathe it. The lead CD was Izzy DeBellis, the chap responsible for the new Wendy's ads.

One disgruntled commenter on Agency Spy writes, "Bad brief. Terrible casting. It truly is one of those spots that makes you hate the brand. After watching it I feel like tripping an Indian. In fact the next one I see is getting a cock punch." We ROFLMAO'ed, then felt mean, so we went to the bar to sulk and contemplate the condition of our souls. (Props to MTLB for pointing out the spot.)

My God. Is THAT what passes for motivational advertising these days? An effeminate guy dancing with people dressed in the 60's? If this had been bright I would have asked for shades, but as it is, there simply is no sun!
