"Happiness Factory 3" continues Coke's Happiness Factory/Open Happiness campaign with a Monday-friendly beginning we can all identify with. Mid-yawn, a guy hits up a Coke vending machine, compelling all the Wonderland creatures inside to yawn too.
There's a bit of authoritative clapping, then some feel-good pop music kicks in. Everyone snaps open their Cokes, and both worlds bloom into quotidian activity.
If you happen to catch the spot on YouTube, you'll be invited to a subsite where you can check out a track featuring Cee-Lo Green, Janelle Monae, Travis McCoy, Brendon Urie and Patrick Stump. Remixed by Polow Da Don, it reminds us of the What's Goin' On? all-star tribute from way-back-when, except with a more organic Wonderwall feel.
But while Coke's got cash to throw around, don't expect any freebs here. The pretty track's for sale! on iTunes for users in Europe. (We're registered with the US store; oddly, a pop-up message from iTunes told us we can try buying it from the Belgium destination if we want.)
This week the ad is heavy on the spin for France-based Facebook users, which appear to be insanely enthusiastic about it. One user even went so far to brag about drinking two liters of Coke per day. Dude, there is nothing happiness-inducing about that; just reading the comment gave us a hankering for insulin.
