'Mirrors' Brings Enchantment to Sequestered Princesses

Brazilian retailer Lilica Ripilica, which is like a more palatable Limited Too, is embarking on an effort under a new tagline: "Enchantment." Its first piece, "Espelhos" ("Mirrors"), depicts a little girl who slips into a pastel fantasy world where petals turn into butterflies and you get to be dressed in ribbons.

Very Alice -- less dark but with the same undercurrent of lonesomeness, which was probably unintended. Twin sisters were used to lend the impression that the girl has multiplied into lots of pretty, fun-loving playmates composed of, well, herself.

It's pretty, though: tame, gentle, clean -- a decidedly far cry from the tween stuff we're used to.
