"Twitter is digital narcissism. An excessive interest in oneself and one's own activities. An extreme selfishness and self-centeredness. A grandiose view of one's own talents and an extreme craving for admiration and acceptance from others. There is no them out there anymore, just too much of us." ~Michael Iva

I wonder why the owners called the company TWITTER instead of CLUTTER?

Maybe it's because the name Twitter reflects the hyper-nervousness, the short trivial bursts of information that a flock of birds in a cage do. Then again, CHATTER might of been a good name too.

Twitter is mindless and rapid and incessant trivial jabbering, about meaningless gossip. A never ending stream of idle chitchat by time-poor-peeping-Toms.

JUST WHAT THE INFORMATION AGE NEEDS...MORE INFORMATION BY THE MASSES, FOR THE MASSES!

Get a MFing life! Will you? PLEASE!

Recent research compares Facebook users to Twitterers: Facebook people, at parties "interact with many, including strangers" whereas Twitter devotees "Interact with a few, known to them". Facebookers buy shampoo that costs more than $7, Twitterers prefer to spend less on their hair. What else? Facebookers are significantly more likely to have had an alcoholic drink in the past 24 hours. Twitterers seem to be less social than Facebookers. But maybe it's because Twitterers report that they have oily skin -- it's the zits!

At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive. The one extra degree makes all the difference. So many times in business and in life, that one extra degree of effort is what separates the mundane from the great.

I've watched this video again and again. There's something hypnotic about it. And I'm not sure if I'm supposed to laugh or cry. At times I find it deeply moving, and I feel a real sense of compassion for these people.

Comfortably numb are the people who lead lives of quiet desperation.

This vapid example of humanity-in-the-fold is "artsy"?

...so I'm guessing that 100SPF sun screen engineered around the harmful rays of the eerie glow from a computer monitor is right around the corner then?

Does anyone ever give out "business hugs" anymore? Are we even that personally close TO ANYONE ...anymore?

You've hit the nail on the head, Dennis.

It is completely without substance.
