Red Alert 3 Remix

"Red Alert 3 Remix," a promotional video for EA's Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, is the fruit of a partnership between DraftFCB and remix artist CB Shaw. The latter interspersed offbeat Hollywood icons with references to 'net memes and gaming footage -- all to the tune of Hell March, a track that was used in the opening sequence to the original Red Alert. Good way to draw legacy gamers back into the hype, though many will probably feel alienated by the invasion of Planet Hollywood.

The line-up alone is pop culture genius. Jenny McCarthy, Gemma Atkinson, George Takei, Jonathan Pryce, Andrew Divoff, Peter Stormare, Tim Curry, JK Simmons, Kelly Hu, Autumn Reeser, and Ivana Milicevic have all been enlisted as characters in the game.

But the Remix itself is infectious, especially at the beat-drop, when Takei repeats "All your base are..." over and over, leaving geek-tastic brains screaming "...BELONG TO US! BELONG TO US! BELONG -- TO -- US!"

Also, I danced on cue. Well no, not really.

Since its launch on September 18, the video's generated almost 70,500 views and a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on YouTube. (It was rated 643 times as of this writing.) Impulse buyers, put your credit cards back in the shoebox: Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 isn't available 'til October 13.
