Henry Chinea's Blog

Everything around you is a result of somebody's idea.

The bed you sleep on at night. The food that keeps you going throughout the day. The clothes on your back. The car you drive to and from work. The rich and engaging content you absorb the minute you turn on your television or you log onto the Internet. The words on this very page. This list could go on for hours. Hey Henry- I've been reading your blog and your struggles as a writer. I hope to a copywriter after college, however, it seems that if I took some classes in graphic design and art direction I may be better off when the time comes to get a job.

I've thought about an ad school, but as of now I would like to see if I can put together a portfolio after my next four years of internships (I start college at Michigan State this month). I don't want to spend my life at school, you know what I mean? Sure, it may be beneficial to go to an ad school, but with writing, you have it or you don't- and if you don't, all you have to do is keep writing to get better.

Oh by the way, I found reading Paul Arden books to be very inspirational when I'm down. I'd recommend you grab a copy of either of his books- believe me, it will change your view on the business.

Talk to you soon.
