Since I haven't officially started my career yet I've heard horror stories of people trying to get jobs in the States- is it like that where you work or do you know of people struggling over there?

I'm seriously considering taking a year off schooling to go to Asia or India where I may be able to get a job in advertising. Here and in Europe, it seems you need a college degree, so many years of experience and portfolio to get a job. Do you think if I literally packed up my stuff and just moved across the Pacific I could find work in advertising even with my little experience? I keep hearing about lack of creative talent in these growing countries where math and science are most heavily emphasized so I'm thinking I may have a legitimate shot.

What do you think- any advice?
