Well, given I've had thoughts of going back and learning art direction myself, I'd say art direction. There's a lot more need for art help. However a lot more competition. Honestly, to make yourself more valuable on the market and to get more opportunities, I'd suggest studying marketing. That would give you a huge competitive advantage over everyone else with your talents. Tues night would be better. Sorry I missed you on Sat.
hey, sorry I missed your call...I had to help a friend set up her halloween part up on the court square-she has a neat little club there. Can I call you on Sun afternoon?
Murfreesboro is about 50 minutes from Nashville, about 1.5-2 hrs from Chattanooga.
As for freelancing with agencies on the art side, I'd say now is the busy season. Go for it. Referrals will be everything--get clients to endorse you on LInked In.
Writing country songs is a great creative release, especially when they're good songs. I composed a little jazz tune in garage band last year, but my lack of keyboard ability made it pretty amateurish. But it least it sounded realistically amateurish : )
If you'd like to talk more about Nashville agencies, let me know.
There's tons of small digital / web design firms here too. not sure what art direction/design needs there are. Illustration may be a big plus though.
Nashville is great. What part of Indiana? I lived in Indiana for several years-Evansville then Indy. Worked in 2 of the biggest ad agencies in the state. Then on to NC for a few years. Now that I'm back close to home, I'm done moving. I live in Murfreesboro. I do write country songs...just played my 5th writer's night show a few weeks back. I'll have to add some tv spots to my profile page. Ever come to Murfreesboro? I need to go to Chatanooga

You do very nice work, as well.
So you're in Chattanooga? Have you thought about moving up to Nashville?
