Help me out. Tell me again how to convince my client who is balking at any branding advertising that they can not measure by results. We are so close but they fall back on the coupon sheets we drop in the newspaper they can count the coupons etc.…

Long day, have great ideas, must sell to client on Monday. I think 50% of creative success is the ability to sell the ideas.

Yeh, that’s what I have called them, most of my life. But, it’s a bit confusing when the production department or manager is the print buyer. But perhaps you are right I just looked in the Graphic Arts Guild book and they call this function…

We used to call them, “paste up artists” what do we call those people who prepare the files for publication today? Graphic designer can’t be the right term. What do you think?

Strategy, what it is?

After reading the creative brief, I or the creative team have always written a copy platform, a premise or sometimes called the creative strategy. The creative strategy is not of course the same thing as the marketing strategy. I have heard it defined as a one sentance definition of the major meesage.

I have always found all these name to be confusing. I understand it as defined above.
What do you call it? Any thoughts?

“I am fascinated by the cult like following of Multi Level Marketing”…(You and me both.)

Why do you suppose that phenomenon exists?

What is it about MLM that sucks suckers into it’s vortex?

Dear Steve,
Congratulations, you have made the short list. Your script was wonderful.
The final decision will be very difficult. Basically it is down to you, or my wife niece Buffy.
Buffy has just graduated from the Bunting school of cosmetology and is willing to work for $24,000 a year, I am assuming that $22,000 is the salary range you can live with.

To help us make this final decision, would you make a few small changes to your script and return the revisions by end of day tomorrow.

First the call to action is very weak. The phone number should be repeated at least four times.

The company name should be mentioned in every sentence.

The name DIAMONDELL should always be in caps.

Please, always use the word Inc. in the name of the company.

In reference to the Apollo Space Rocket the phrase should read (COULD HAVE) been used in the nose cone of the Apollo Space Rocket.

Remove the word fail, we never use the word fail in any reference to our product.

Remove any reference to any claim that the product can do anything at all, just sell the features.

Remove the word warranty, we do not want to promote any expectations of quality.

If you could also whip out a couple of headlines, based on the copy you have written it would help in our final decision.

One final small change. We have decided to promote our stucco products rather then the aluminum siding. If you could copy up these simple changes and send them by tomorrow we will let you know in a couple of months.

Good luck
The Aluminum Siding Company, Inc.

Here is my Aluminum siding script. This aluminum siding is so tough it was used to coat the nosecones of the Apollo Space Rockets. Examples of this same formula aluminum siding have been found in Egypt dating back to 640 B.C., but now through the miracle of modern technology and our patented diamondelle process, you can have this aluminum siding on your home for less than you’d ever imagined. If it should ever fail, ding, dent, chip or toherwise not live up to your expectations, your limited lifetime warranty will take effect and limit your lifetime.

How much would you expect to pay? $4,995? $3,995? Not even $2,995 That’s right for a limited time only you can get thsi wonderful aluminum siding for the low, low price of only $18.88 in 1,000 easy installments. But you must act now!!!!!!!!!!
Installers are in your area this week and this week only, so call now!!!!!!!!!!! And as an added bonus, you’ll receive our home high colonic kit, regularly a $399 value and yours free. Call Now!!!!!!
