Perhaps this true story, which I posted on Ribblog yesterday, will prompt some discussion www.media-proinc.com/ribblog :
One of the most disheartening moments in my career occurred at a meeting between senior managers of a FORTUNE 100 company and its PR team that included me. One of the client’s people asked: “What should our CEO’s position be about . . . . ?” I was the only person shocked by the query. Indeed, the experts on both sides of the table assumed it was their role to help the CEO def…

I have recently launched a social networking site in Tucson for profit and non profit businesses. I have also joined a slew of social media sites this year as part of
The 109 Day Link Building Explosion program. The program is based on what I call “scratch my back marketing. The whole idea is to make networking and branding the cornerstones of any social media effort.
If you are looking for backlinks the…

Just about anyway that you would search for Do Follow blogs and lists you’ll find my website. It is usually in the top 3 and it has been there a long time. But Comment spam destroyed these lists. I would like to invite you to read
The Demise of the Do Follow Lists.
It is a good example of how selfless actions of a few can hurt many!
Thanks,
Boris

Luxury websites, there is not enough to meet the demand for needed luxury brand advertising by Lorre White CEO of White Light Consulting and “The Luxury Guru” an international media personality.
A luxury brand cannot just be on any site. Have you ever seen a NetJets ad on MYSPACE? Why is that? Luxury brands are sensitive to whom and what they are affiliated with. You could say that Ferrari is the Cristal of the car world, or that NetJets is the Valentino of the Fractional Jet ownership, or tha…

I dont usually promote things when I blog but I really thing this information which I got through a linked-in group deserves mentioning.
BT Tradespace”> is an online networking /marketing site that allows free advertising to over 330,000 members run by British Telecoms. By its own description, “It brings businesses and their customers together to do business and build lasting, relevant relationships. Think of it as a people powered community that…

It’s good to see that a leading voice in marketing is thinking along the same lines as I am. On April 17 I posted “Pharma Marketing: Too Much ‘Me Too.” The May 11 issue of Advertising Age ran a lengthy article headlined titled “Big Pharma Finally Taking Big Steps to Reach Patients With Digital Media.”
The article’s key points include:
• Pharmas increased measured spending on internet media 36% to $137 million in 2008.
• Pharmas’ preferred social media include blogs, Twitter, YouTube.
• Fear of…

How to Make a Fortune Promoting Other People’s Products
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliate Payraise”
…………………….
There must be a reason why some affiliates succeed and some
fail, a reason why some affiliates profit moderately and some
affiliates profit substantially.
There must be a reason.
There is.
And that reason is this: “super” affiliates start, sustain and
strengthen r…

I was just at a MITX user experience event at Digitas and while the presenters were presenting I started to get a full understanding of what a User Experience professional is trying to accomplish in the digital space.
As it turns out User Experience professionals have very similar goals and objectives that Account Planners have. They are focused on the consumer of the website in the same way an Account Planner is focused on the consumer of a product.
What I also found interesting, were the too…

During this recession it has been quiet clear that Newspapers and Magazines will not last in their printed forms much longer, and that the push to online news and content has accelerated.
Media distributors have two problems right now:
1. They can’t charge a lot for banner ads because banner ads and other online “advertising techniques” don’t really work in terms of “make the logo bigger” type branding. (Fault of both advertisers and media distributors.)
2. Media Distributors have not found a…

Companies should be more concerned about the stories they tell than the strategies they engineer, if they are serious about building and sustaining relationships with their customers.
People connect with companies, products and services when their individual stories intertwine.
